Dr. Ramesh B. Eluri, MD is a Boarded Psychiatrist in both General Psychiatry and Geriatric Psychiatry. He has experience in administrative and clinical psychiatry. He demonstrates strengths in emergency psychiatry and substance abuse treatment.
Dr. Eluri graduated from medical school in India and completed his residency in Psychiatry at the Central Institute of Psychiatry in India, a nationally reputed psychiatric institute. He then went on to complete a General Psychiatry residency at Temple University School of Medicine and a Geriatric Fellowship at Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia. Dr. Eluri's research focused on Magnetic Resonance and Spectroscopic in chronic mental illness.
Prior to entering private practice, Dr. Eluri served as the Medical Director of Geriatric Psychiatry and Psychiatric Emergency Services at Friends Hospital and Eagleville Hospital. He also worked in addiction treatments, with expertise in opiate and alcohol dependence.
Dr. Eluri has been in private practice for many years. In addition to his private practice work, Dr. Eluri currently serves as the Vice Chair of the Department of Psychiatry at Pottstown Memorial Medical Center and as a Consultant for Nursing Homes, Long-term care, and Residential Treatment Facilities. He is a Diplomat in General Psychiatry and Geriatric Psychiatry for the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN) and has previously served as a Board Examiner for ABPN.
