Dr. Erica Avello joined RBE in early 2015 as a Licensed Psychologist. Upon graduation from Immaculata University she completed an APA approved pre-doctoral internship at The Devereux Foundation. She remained at Devereux for post-doctoral experience where her work focused primarily on adolescents and families affected by sexual violence and other trauma. Trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing and Dialectical Behavior Therapy, her passion remains working with adolescents and adults with a history of trauma. She also offers individual therapy for symptoms of depression, anxiety, and issues related to sexuality/sexually problematic behavior. Family therapy services include co-parenting and reunification for families affected by divorce and/or custody litigation. Upon arriving at RBE, Dr. Avello assisted in creating the diagnostic assessment clinic and she has continued on as the administrator of this program to provide testing for ADHD, Intellectual Disability, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and an array of other mental health disorders. Dr. Avello is a member of the American Psychological Association, Pennsylvania Psychological Association, The Association for the Treatment of Sexual Abusers, and the Sexual Offender Assessment Board of Pennsylvania. At RBE, she serves as the Clinical Supervisor, working closely with the therapists and prescribers, the business office and patients to provide excellent quality of care in a warm and supportive environment.
